Registration is now open for BioOne’s 6th Annual Publishers and Partners Meeting, to be held from 8:30am–4:30pm on Friday, April 17, 2009 in Washington, DC at the American Geophysical Union’s Conference Center, 2000 Florida Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. This important meeting provides an open forum for discussion among journal publishers, librarians, and leading industry providers, and enjoys a robust turnout each year. We encourage participation by anyone interested in the activities, strategies, and continued development of BioOne.
To Register: Simply send an email with your name, title, organization, and full contact details to Lauren Kane at lauren@arl.org. Registration will remain open through April 1, 2009, or until all spots are filled. There is no cost to register or attend this meeting.
Hotel Accommodations: BioOne has secured a limited room block at the Hilton Washington (located at 1919 Connecticut Ave, NW, across the street from our meeting space) for the convenience of our attendees. The special group rate is $215/night. We encourage you to make your reservation as soon as possible (but no later than March 26, 2009) by using our customized Hilton reservations page. The grants, up to $500 for qualified applicants, may be used to defray the cost of attending this collaborative event. In addition, for the first year BioOne is offering a comprehensive travel grant to one individual through the Howard Goldstein Award to Advance Scholarly Communication. The award will be granted to the applicant who best exemplifies Howard’s passion for sustainability and innovation in scholarly publishing.
