Register today for BioOne’s Publishers and Partners Meeting held April 24 in DC. Attendance is free but we require registration.
We have impressive slate of speakers this year. In our Spotlight Series, we’ll introduce each speaker and what she plans to discuss at the meeting. See a full agenda and more details for our meeting here.
This week we’re thrilled to introduce our first speaker, Dr. Amy Brand of Digital Science.
Brand will discuss recent efforts to develop an open standard for tagging contributor roles in multi-author research publications. Project CRediT (projectcredit.net) formally launched in 2014 to address the groundswell of interest among researchers, funding agencies, academic institutions, and editors in increasing transparency of research contributions, and in more fine-grained attribution and associated credit tracking. These efforts could positively influence both the cooperative culture of research, and academic incentives structures more generally.
Brand is the VP Academic and Research Relations and VP North America at Digital Science, where she manages the US offices and develops commercial, policy, and research relationships with North American research institutions. We’re thrilled to benefit from her knowledge and experiences.
