WASHINGTON, D.C., – BioOne is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 BioOne Ambassador Award. Now in its fifth year, this prestigious award recognizes early-career authors who excel in the communication of their research to the general public. Authors are nominated by BioOne publishing partners, and then submit a response to the prompt of “how does your research change the world?”
BioOne recognizes the following individuals for their clarity and creativity in communicating their specialized research. Each winner will receive a $1,000 award and the recognition of their work in BioOne’s Ambassador Award Showcase.
- Elly Knight – published in Ornithological Applications and nominated by the American Ornithological Society
- Neelakshi Joshi, Ph.D. – published in Mountain Research and Development and nominated by the International Mountain Society
- S. Sangeeth Sailas – published in Ardea and nominated by the Netherlands Ornithologists’ Union
- Marion Clément – published in the Journal of Raptor Research and nominated by the Raptor Research Foundation
- Arícia Duarte Benvenuto – published in the Journal of Wildlife Diseases and nominated by the Wildlife Disease Association
“The BioOne Ambassador Award is a great opportunity to put a starting researcher in the spotlight and showcase their hard-won publication,” said Popko Wiersma of the Netherlands Ornithologists’ Union. “It’s a stimulant for students of ecology to continue their important work of trying to understand the world we live in.”
