Dear BioOne Community,
It’s hard to believe we are already in mid-March in a year thus far characterized by considerable upheaval. As we grapple with the changes and challenges presented by this climate, we take comfort in what has not and will not change–our commitment to you.
BioOne remains steadfast in its mission, values, and core belief that we are stronger together. We are privileged to support a global community of libraries, publishers, funders, and researchers who in turn work to support scientific integrity, knowledge sharing, and discovery.
At the helm of these efforts are BioOne’s Board of Directors, which welcomes two distinguished new members this year. Kathryn McCarthy is Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations at Optoro, and brings to the Board a wealth of financial, audit, and investment experience. Xochitl Clare is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Washington Research Foundation Fellow in the Padilla-Gamiño Lab at the University of Washington. Xochitl was a 2023 BioOne Ambassador, and brings her valuable perspective as an early-career researcher and BioOne author to the Board.
Thank you for being part of the BioOne community. We are grateful for your contributions and welcome your questions, feedback, and ideas.

Lauren Kane
President/CEO
