A non-profit publisher making scientific research more accessible
We curate research content and support discourse while exploring new models in scientific publishing.
BioOne was founded in 1999 by both library and publisher interests to address the inequities posed by commercial journal publishing. Two decades later, BioOne remains committed to meeting library, publisher, and researcher needs through a growing portfolio of products and services.
BioOneComplete
BioOne Complete, BioOne’s flagship product, is a database of over 200 subscribed and open access titles in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences.

At a small university, affordable, discipline-specific resources can be hard to come by. BioOne has answered an important research need for our active science department in an affordable way. Our faculty, staff, and students appreciate the easy-to-use interface and the diverse but relevant results. As a librarian, I highly recommend it.

BioOne is instrumental... With its thoughtfully curated content of flora and fauna e-resources, and usable navigation system, research materials on core subjects are easily discoverable. As a subscriber since 2005, I highly value this innovative, nonprofit, collaboration between publishers and libraries.
